National Museum of Vanuatu Temporarily Relocates to Port Vila Public Library During Renovation

The National Museum of Vanuatu has officially closed its doors at its main building within the Saralana Compound as the facility undergoes renovation and restoration works following the earthquake that affected Vanuatu.

As part of the recovery and renovation process, the Museum's main building will remain closed to the public while necessary works are carried out to restore and improve the facility.

During this period, the National Museum of Vanuatu has temporarily relocated its museum display and public services to the Port Vila Public Library, conveniently situated in the heart of Port Vila town.

The temporary location will provide an opportunity for visitors, students, researchers, tourists and members of the public to continue engaging with Vanuatu's rich cultural heritage and history while renovation works are underway at the main Museum building.

The relocation ensures that the Museum's cultural and educational activities can continue serving the community despite the temporary closure of its Saralana premises.
